Her first Group victory came at Deauville in the G3 Prix Calvados-Haras des Capucines in a thrilling finish to the talented filly, Ana Americana.
Elusive Wave's 3 year old campaign of 2009 has proven to be even more thrilling. In April she took the G3 Prix Imprudence at Maison-Laffitte. The G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches, the French 1000 Guineas, was her most notable victory to date in a close finish with stablemate, Tamazirte, who subsequently went on to finish 2nd in the Prix de Diane, the French Oaks.
Martin Schwartz's charge has firmly established herself in French racing in her own right. Furthermore, along with her stablemate, Stacelita (see below), also owned by Schwartz, together they completed the French Guineas-Oaks double for the in form team of trainer Jean-Claude Rouget and jockey Christophe-Patrice Lemaire. This feat has not been repeated since Charles Elliot in 1956.
