First Start Pays Big For Bluewater Grad

Bluewater Sales Grad Silver Threads made her presence known at Monmouth Park on Friday, June 3rd, notching her first career victory in a $35,620 maiden special. The daughter of Union Rags was herded and then bumped by a rival as they field was in the stretch and crossed the line second by half of a length, but after an inquiry, Silver Threads was upgraded to the winners spot.

Silver Threads is out of Golden Mean (by Mt. Livermore), a full sister to Canadian Horse of the Year and multiple Grade 1 winner Peaks and Valleys and is from the family of Alternation.

Bred by Tony Holmes, Tim Thornton and Walter Zent, Silver Threads was a $19,000 yearling purchase by current owner D. J. Stable and consigned by Bluewater Sales. Trained by Joseph F. Orseno, he first-out win starts her bankroll out at $20,520.
