Wednesday, November 4, 2015

It was a banner evening for Bluewater Sales at this year’s Fasig-Tipton November Sale on November 1. With a boutique group of only 7 horses going through the ring, the Lexington-based consignment earned gross proceeds of $5,362,000 for their clients.

The standout of the group was Sweet Reason, a multiple Grade 1-winning daughter of Street Sense who sold to Katsumi Yoshida for $2,700,000. Also sold was the 2013 Bernardini weanling out of Better Than Honour, who went to Pursuit of Success LLC for $1,400,000 and Renda, a daughter of Medaglia d’Oro who produced multiple Grade 1 winner Rock Fall. Renda was purchased by Arturio Vargas/S. Potter as agents for $1,100,000.

For the one day premier sale, Bluewater Sales garnered impressive results, averaging $1,072,400 and earning a median of $1,100,000.

Overall, 92 horses changed hands at the Fasig-Tipton November Sale for a combined total of $43,666,000, an average of $474,630 and a median price of $253,000. While the median was up 17% from last year, the gross dropped 19.5%.
