Bluewater Sales consigned the second highest-priced yearling at the Fasig-Tipton NY-Bred Preferred sale on Saturday, Aug. 11 when Hip 396, a handsome colt by Exchange Rate, went through the ring with a final bid of $320,000, just $10,000 shy of the sale topper.
Purchased by Mrs. Charlotte Weber’s Live Oak Plantation, the bay colt was a physical standout among much of the New York-bred offerings at the sale. He hails from the stakes-producing Lord At War (ARG) mare Zambezi Belle, the dam of leading New York-bred Law Enforcement.
An earner of $454,438 to date, Law Enforcement has won four stakes in New York, and placed in another four stakes.
