The Bluewater team was all smiles at Saratoga, as they enjoyed success at both the Saratoga Select Yearling Sale and the New York-Bred Preferred Sale.
With three yearlings sold at the Select Sale, Bluewater boasted an average of $256,667. One of those three horses, a filly by the popular young sire Union Rags out of Trappings, brought $460,000, the highest price paid to date for a member of his first crop. The filly is a half sister to Juvenile Champion Filly She Be Wild and was sold to Debbie Oxley..
Just days later at the New York-Bred Preferred Sale, Bluewater struck again, selling three more horses, this time for an average of $121,667. The featured horse of the draft was the Hard Spun colt out of the A. P. Indy mare Ruly, who sold for $200,000, which is the co-highest price paid for a yearling by Hard Spun this year. The colt was purchased by Centennial Farm, owners of Wicked Strong.
Watch for last year's Bluewater grads at the races this fall, and don't miss our consignment in September, as it is sure to impress!
