Bluewater Sales has been setting off fireworks in books 1 and 2 at Keeneland this week.
The offering that created the most buzz so far was Hip 1094, a colt by Flatter out of Stormy B, dam of this year's Fountain of Youth Stakes winner Itsaknockout.
Bob Baffert, signing the ticket as Three Amigos, paid $550,000 for the colt. Stuart and Ed Turlington and their family were thrilled with the results, celebrating and snapping pictures with Baffert after the sale.
Also garnering satisfying results after lots of looks at the barn was Hip 163, a colt by Arch out of Checkered Flag, who sold for $425,000 to Shadwell. The colt is half to multiple Grade 2 winner-turned-stallion Zanjero and stakes winner/graded stakes-placed Victory Lap.
The selling continues throughout the coming week, with several more hips to watch for from the Bluewater Sales consignment!
